Volunteer Solar Installer Orientation with SunWork.org | SLO | Feb 29 | 9:00am-12:00pm

This 3-hour classroom training session teaches the basics of rooftop solar, solar equipment, electricity, and construction safety. Afterwards, volunteers are eligible to participate on solar installations on the Central Coast working together with SunWork’s professional staff, attaching racking, running conduit, hanging inverters, and mounting the solar panels that make a system tick.

This volunteer solar orientation is a great opportunity to learn about clean renewable energy. Some of our volunteers leverage this experience toward a career in solar or to do an installation on their own homes. This orientation session is indoors in a class room setting.

Please note there is a separate free “Going Solar Workshop” that follows in the afternoon which discusses the economics of going solar along with purchasing tips for homeowners. Please register here if you’d like to stay for the Going Solar workshop at 12:30.
